Chemistry for life - new teaching concepts for chemical aspects in natural sciences lessons in the 5th and 6th grade and in the first year of chemistry education

Changes in education policy necessitate changes in the creation and con¬ceptualisation of lessons. Natural science lessons are looked at first, and it is shown how chemistry topics can easily be compiled, for example using the experiment set developed within the scope of this work.

A teaching unit for the first year of chemistry lessons is then introduced. For the conception of this unit the principles of the concept “chemistry for life” are taken into consideration as well as the changed circumstances and possible misconceptions pupils can have. The teaching way treats the subjects "materials and their qualities", "states of aggregation and their changes", "mixtures of materials and separation processes" as well as "the introduction of the chemical reaction".
