Interfacial tension and Diffusion of Ionic Liquids and their binary mixtures

The focus of the submitted work deals with the investigation of interfacial tension and diffusion of different ionic liquids and their binary mixtures.

For selected ionic liquids the surface tension was detected. Furthermore the surface tension of mixtures of [C4MIM][NTf2] and [N8881][NTf2] with short chain alcohols was obtained. In addition the interfacial tension was determined between two liquid phases of [C4MIM][[NTf2] and C6-compounds. These investigations were made by using the pendant-drop-method.

In the second part the dynamic properties were analysed by the way of diffusion of ionic liquids in water. A new construction of a Taylor-dispersion method has been described which was extensively tested of functional capability and accuracy of measurements. The binary diffusion coefficients depending on temperature was obtained for the ionic liquids in dilution with water.
