Steuerung der Elektronenemission aus Silberclustern in intensiven, geformten Laserfeldern

Ultrashort laser pulses have opened a route to uncover strong field phenomena in atoms and molecules. In recent years, new experimental techniques for observation and control of individual electron motion have arisen from tailored laser fields. On the other hand, collective electronic effects, as exhibited by metal clusters, are anticipated to become key phenomena for nanoparticle applications. The present work focuses on the directed emission of energetic electrons from silver clusters in optimized laser fields. Using bichromatic and few-cycle laser pulses, the motion of high energy electrons in a nanosystem is controlled on the timescale of an optical cycle.
