Study of Beauty Baryons Decaying to D⁰pK and the Amplitudes of Λb→D⁰pK in the Dalitz Plane with the LHCb Experiment

In this thesis the study of the decays Λb→D⁰pK and Ξb→D⁰pK is presented using the Run I and Run II data of the LHCb experiment. Both decays can be used to measure charge parity (CP) violation which is one of three necessities to explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry in our universe. The measured phase space integrated CP asymmetries are in agreement with zero.

Further branching fractions for both decays are determined to B(Λb→D⁰pK)=(4.61 ± 0.17stat ± 0.08syst ± 0.52ext) × 10−5 and fΞb·B(Ξb→D⁰pK)=(2.18±0.08stat±0.05syst±0.39ext)×10−6 which is one and a half times precise than the current worldwide best measurements.

Finally amplitude analysis of the Λb→D⁰pK phase space with D⁰→K−π+ is performed, yielding a large fraction of a Λ+c(2950) resonance in the D⁰p channel and multiple Λ* resonances in the pK channel.
