In this work, the synthesis and characterisation of a 1,2,3-triazolate-4,5-dithiolate as a bridging ligand were discussed. In a copper-catalysed azide-alkyne cycloaddition between different azides and terminal thioalkynes the 1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-sulfanyl could isolated under click-like conditions. After subsequent deprotonation of the 1,2,3-triazole, another donor was introduced at the 5-position. Starting from the protected 1H-1,2,3-triazole-4,5-bis(benzylsulfanyl), deprotection studies were carried out. The 1,2,3-triazole-4,5-dithiolate with a substituent on the N atom coordinates heteroleptically to Ni(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) and homoleptically to Ni(II) via the dithiolate. The reaction with Co(III) showed dimerisation, which was investigated by X-ray, CV, NMR and UV/Vis. In addition, by-products from the coordination experiments could be characterized. The reductive benzyl group removal at the sulphur was better understood. By introducing triethylsilyl at the N atom of 1,2,3-triazole-4,5-bis(benzylsulfanyl), a labile orthogonal protecting group for successive deprotection at the 1,2,3-triazole could be introduced. After dithiolate coordination, the first 1,2,3-triazole-4,5-dithiolate complexes with an NH function were isolated. The complexes were characterised spectroscopically and electronically. Unknown is an additional coordination via the nitrogen of the 1,2,3-triazolate ring. In this work, first coordinations via the 1,2,3-triazolate with Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(III), Ni(II) and Cu(II) were presented. In this context, the role of the 1,2,3-triazolate-4,5-ditholate as a bridging ligand and the different coordination modii in polynuclear complexes are discussed and characterised.
